Humberto Adrián Pérez has been a public educator for seventeen years. He is the audio/video production instructor and executive producer at John B. Connally High School Digital Den Studios in the Pflugerville school district. He incorporates digital storytelling, social media, guerrilla filmmaking techniques, mobile technology, theatre arts, music, and a wide array of artistic techniques into a project-based & rigorous learning experience for his students. This led to a project where one year his students produced a couple of short narrative films that were accepted into the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival. Students raised money using social media to be able to attend the festival.Humberto’s students collaborate on projects that give students a real-world opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills in digital media production, management, and many other career areas. He and his students have collaborated with companies and organizations like E4 Youth, Mexic-Arte Museum, Forklift Danceworks, VSA Texas, Association of Fundraising Professionals, and Green Ribbon Schools.Humberto founded Revolution Arte Productions in 2010, a company where he continues his work as an indie filmmaker, digital media misfit, talent cultivator, and arts education advocate.Humberto’s recognitions include the 
Dewey Winburne Community Service Award at the 2012 SXSW Interactive Festival
, and the 2010-2011 Secondary District Teacher of the Year at Pflugerville ISD.
