He is also the host and organizer of ST4T, an annual EdTech conference in Clearwater, FL. Nik has taught Elementary Math and Science for 10 years in public and charter schools in the Tampa Bay Area. He is a technology enthusiast, and enjoys discovering new ways to incorporate technology in the classroom in meaningful ways, in order to provide spaces for authentic learning experiences. Nik loves connecting with passionate educators who are not afraid to get out of their comfort zone and try new and exciting things in their classrooms. Nik specializes in digital formative assessments, iPads in the classroom, iBook creation, coding & robotics tools, digital storytelling, gamifying curriculum, screencasting tools, and Web 2.0 applications. Recently he has branched into the Augmented Reality sector and working with educators to invent innovative ways to use Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality in the classroom. In his free time Nik enjoys blogging. His work has been featured on EdTechTeacher’s blogs, at Edudemic, and at Daily Genius, where he is a regular contributor. Nik is also an experienced presenter, speaker, and trainer that has presented at FETC, ST4T, FCSC, CanConnected, Miami Device, EdTechTeacher’s iPad Summit, and at Daytona College. Nik’s passion for learning and sharing steered him towards finding new ways to share knowledge and learning experiences with other teachers on a global scale. To do that, Nik created ST4T, an annual EdTech conference that attracts the best of the best in the EdTech field, and serves as a platform for these gifted individuals to share their knowledge with the rest of the educational community. The inaugural ST4T Conference took place in June 2015 and was a huge success. Nik is excited to be working on ST4T’s second conference in June of 2016. Some of Nik’s students who were part of this year’s ST4T are currently working on a collaborating project with a school in Greece, and creating a digital product that illustrates the fruits of this collaboration.
